FILM, LIKE LIFE, IS IN THE DETAILS
Nicole Greenberg
Script Supervisor
A SERVICE haven for TELLING YOUR STORY ON CAMERA!
Your script is locked, you are planning your shoot. Oftentimes, script supervising is the last thing on your mind but it is one of the most powerful partnerships you can integrate into your project.
Script Supervisors not only serve as an authority of the story, but also have command of the basic shots needed to cover a scene.
Bringing a script supervisor onto your project empowers you to do the following:
Save Time and Money by identifying discrepancies early especially during preproduction to avoid expensive reshoots later! My system greatly assists in maintaining continuity, especially when partial scenes are shot and the remaining scenes are returned to days later or when a shot list is scuttled due to challenges with actor availability, location, weather, etc. Changes happen on set frequently and as your script supervisor, I can assist in the strategic pivot you need to make.
Ensure Director’s Vision by working collaboratively with the director, actors and crew to hone the film’s artistic vision. Script Supervisors read the script multiple times, especially at each revision, make notes to improve and identify aspects to watch for as shots get underway.
Deliver a Roadmap for the Editor. The script supervisor is the dedicated guardian of the story, the director’s vision, and represents the editor on set. With a system for tracking and describing each shot and delivering clear and concise notes to the editor of the director’s vision (including sound/visual effects and other camera, sound and other data), a script supervisor is a meaningful and integral presence on any set.

Specialized Service -Dialogue Tracking
Expertly documenting the essence of your story, character arcs, and enhancing the final cut is my goal.
If you already have a script supervisor on set, no problem! The trend today is to not only have a script supervisor on set but to also have a dialogue tracker. More and more filmmakers and actors are exploring improvised dialogue on set, especially comedies, and dialogue tracking is essential to not miss a magical moment.
As a dialogue tracker, I can support your script supervisor by tracking/documenting improvised dialogue, annotating the script with the updated verbiage and provide that annotation to the Script Supervisor as they support actor(s) needing reminders of what they said and how they said it.
I can also run lines with actors.
Dialogue tracking can be included digitally in ScriptE, Scriptation, MS Word or Excel or other format Script Supervisor requests.
In this supporting role, my objective is to empower the script supervisor on set to correctly inform your editor of the updated dialogue.
A RESOURCE FOR FILM STUDENTS @ NO COST
As a longtime volunteer and community advocate, I continue to mentor future filmmakers through my craft.
I have helped many college and high school-aged filmmakers with their film projects by:
Mentoring students in the craft of continuity coordination.
Reading and breaking down their script for continuity and labeling flashbacks.
Reviewing their shooting schedule and what scenes work to be shot together and more.
Brainstorming additional shots to provide editing wiggle room because actors improvise lines or matching becomes difficult.
Helping with slating and slating protocol
Providing my binder at end of shoot with all materials for them to use in editing.
